The term fish-eye was coined to refer to a lens capable of imaging an entire hemisphere; providing a circular view that a fish looking upward at the surface of the water might see. It should really be called a fish view lens since the eye of the fish probably is not responsible for what it sees as much as the fact that its eye is immersed in water. In any case, fisheye lenses achieve extremely wide angles of view by foregoing a rectilinear image to give fisheye images their characteristic convex appearance. Don't confuse this .20x quality Precision Design optic with .42X/.45X… Panoramic…Super Wide Angle… Semi Fisheye type lenses whose rear elements unscrew to be used as macro lenses. They can not even approach delivering a high quality 180 degree field of view. The all-glass high resolution optics of the Precision Design .20x Super Fish Eye have been engineered to do one thing and do it well... reduce the focal length of a lens by .20x to provide an amazing fish eye view. Terrible Buying Experience
Could not give a proper rating due the terrible condition my "Brand new" lens was in when it got to me. Saw some good reviews which was what led me to get this lens but now i'm totally turned off by going through this with this seller. I would suggest you save the money to get a proper fish eye lens for your camera or try other brands as there are much more out there.

Don't waste yout time or money with this lens
I knew before I bought it that it's not a replacement for a good wide angle or fisheye. However, for the price I thought it would be worth trying. I was wrong. Not worth buying. Waste of money.

Surprisingly great
When first looking at this camera lens and considering possibly purchasing it, I had the same question that everyone probably had upon looking at the products pictures and description: Is this lens going to be cheap and the right one for me? For only being $39 I am extremely happy in my purchase and would recommend this fisheye camera lens to any one of my friends. Especially just being an amateur photographer, it was a great alterative for a lens opposed to spending hundreds of dollars on an expensive fisheye lens. Once ordering the product, I received it in the mail faster then expected and was eager to open the package up and test it out. In the box includes the lens in a black pouch, three different size rings, and a cleaning cloth to clean the lens. This product should not be confused for an actual lens. This product is an attachment onto any existing 18mm to 50mm lens, it does not attach onto the camera body itself. The attachment is extremely easy to put on or take off and only takes a few seconds. I have a Nikon d3100, that comes with the factory 18mm to 50mm lens, and all I had to do screw the ring that fit best right on the end of my lens and then screw the fish eye attachment lens onto the ring from there. The ring itself is pretty steady and fits perfectly so I have had no issues so far. Although the attachment lens itself is approximately eight and half ounces, which does put a great amount of weight on the camera body as well as your original lens, it is advised that you use your hand to hold it up. The attachments body feels as if it had a rubber exterior and does come with a rubber cap, which I disliked. Upon going outside and testing it out, I did in fact get some great photographs and the desired 180-degree fisheye effect. The picture quality is not incredibly spectacular but it is expected coming from such an inexpensive product. The glass looks high quality, but you’ll find that occasionally in some of your pictures the corners will be a little fuzzy. I would not recommend this attachment to anyone that wants to use it specifically for wide-angle landscape shots because only a small centered area will be in focus. I do like that the attachment is smaller and weighs less that my other camera lens, which is nice because Ill find myself just sticking it in my jacket pocket when going out, instead of bringing my big camera bag along with all my other lenses. The only thing that I would have to say that I really disliked about the lens and that they didn’t included in their description is that it is fixed and does not give you the ability to zoom in or out, you must do that on your original lens since it is just an attachment. Another thing that is kind of a bummer is that it does not work with your automatic focusing motor. You must turn your original lens switch on the side of the lens to manual instead of automatic and physically turn your lens focusing ring to your desired focus, which can sometimes be hard because that is right where the lens is attached. Although this all sounds very complicated, once you play around with it you will get a hang of it and is easy to use. Overall I would recommend this product giving it a 9 out of 10 and in my opinion is worth the small amount of money. Originally my expectations were not that high upon buying this product because of the low price but I really do love it and do not regret buying it whatsoever. I have taken some pretty amazing photographs with it and it is extremely fun to play around and experiment with. It would be a great gift for anyone that is interested in photography and has his or her own camera. I will attach some photos so you can see some of the pictures I have taken with it.
