You need to measure lug width on the watch. Not the width of the strap. Watch straps can change width at different points along the strap.

It's leather. Not real alligator. So yes. Leather will deteriorate over time in water.

Q: Has anyone purchased this in smoke grey? in one photo it looks like a med. grey, in others it looks like light greyish blue. can anyone confirm color?

I just received my alligator grain band today and the true color is medium grey rather than the light greyish blue tint shown in the website photo.
